A Cockermouth road will be closed until further notice after a crane became wedged between two buildings.
People have had to be evacuated after the incident, on Kirkgate, which happened yesterday, Wednesday June 19, due to fears there may be a gas leak.
Allerdale police said the collision had left the corner building with substantial structural damage.
After the crane was released, blocks of masonry were strewn across the road.
Allerdale police said once the building had been assessed and made safe, the road would reopen.
Allerdale police added: “The driver of the vehicle has been identified, spoken to and reported for driving without due care and attention.
“Officers would like to thank members of the public and businesses for their understanding and assistance whilst emergency services dealt with the situation.”
