
A pensioner has died and a man has been arrested after a collision on the A595.
Emergency services were called to the A595 at Bothel in the early hours of today, Monday July 1.
The collision involved two cars – a black Toyota RAV and a blue Honda Civic – and happened shortly before 12.25am.
The driver of the Honda Civic – a man in his 70s from the Wigton area – was declared dead at the scene.
A man in his 30s, suspected of being the driver of the Toyota RAV, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He remains in police custody.
