A man has been arrested after an incident in a West Cumbrian village.
The 42-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following the incident in Distington on Monday, July 1.
Officers were called to Midtown Close after being made aware that a man in the street had suffered a head injury.
He was taken to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven for treatment and later discharged.
The man who was arrested last night remains in custody today.

Cumbria police said: “A cordon was in place in part of Distington last night while enquiries were carried out. Officers thank the public for their patience during this time.”
