One of the largest arts and crafts fair in the North will be held in Cumbria this summer.

Held on the Promenade at Grange-over-Sands, PromArt features up to 50 stalls and fairs will be held in July, August and September – each featuring different stallholders.

It welcomes artists and designer makers at all levels of experience. It is possible to find fresh work by up-and-coming arts graduates, remarkable items produced by local hobby crafters, and original art and craft by professional creatives.

Regular items for sale include fine art, prints, photography, sketches, cards, pottery, upcycled and recycled jewellery, woodwork, glass, silversmithing, millinery, ceramics, knitwear and textiles.

Organisers said: “Each PromArt event is welcoming, friendly and quirky with the atmosphere of a European street market. Buskers play and perform for passers-by; exhibitors demonstrate their work; there are benches to take the weight off your legs; a cafĂ© for those all important refreshments; a stunning herbaceous border; a vintage lido building exhibiting Grange old and new; and fascinating views across salt marsh and Morecambe Bay.”

The fair was started around 15 years ago and is run as a not-for-profit CIC by a committee.

It will be held on July 28, August 11, August 25 and September 29 from 10am to 4pm.
