Plans have been lodged to convert a shop in the Lake District into a high quality tattoo studio.

Richardson-Gittins Ltd has submitted a planning application to the Lake District National Park Authority to convert the former Lady K Jewellery store on Longlands Road in Bowness into the studio.

The application said: “Our vision is to create a professional, welcoming environment where clients can receive bespoke tattoo designs from fully qualified, experienced artists.

“The studio will also offer piercing services by a certified piercer and host international guest artists to introduce unique styles of work to the area.”

The team would consist of two fully qualified tattoo artists with extensive experience in the industry. They would aim to recruit a local apprentice to train in the art of tattooing.

Planning documents said by offering unique tattoo styles and hosting renowned guest artists, the studio would attract tourists and tattoo enthusiasts, boosting local tourism.

It added: “We are confident that this change of use will benefit the community by providing a unique, high-quality service that upholds the highest standards of hygiene and professionalism. We look forward to contributing to the vibrant business landscape of Bowness-on-Windermere.”
