
A man is due to appear in court today after police found 5kg of cocaine in a car.
Officers stopped the vehicle on the M6 southbound near Junction 40 at Penrith yesterday morning, August 2.
During their enquiries officers seized five kilos of cocaine.
Alexander Ross, 28, of Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, has been charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine.
He is due to appear before North Cumbria Magistrates’ Court today, August 3.
A second man, aged 28 from Northallerton, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.Â
