Hospice at Home West Cumbria will be moving to new premises in Workington town centre.
The shop, in Washington Square, will stock pre-loved, vintage and new clothing, accessories, books, children’s toys and books, as well as soft furnishings and ornaments.
The project was made possible thanks to Nuclear Waste Services’ Community Investment Funding, awarded through the former Allerdale GDF Community Partnership.
It is opening in the premises formerly occupied by Akitts, next to Home Bargains.
Retail manager, Judith Jarman said “We are very grateful to Nuclear Waste Services’ Community Investment Funding for their support and are excited to open our doors.
“Our new shop is bigger and brighter, and with a dedicated access at the rear of the building, people can drop off their donations easily. We are grateful to all our regular customers, and look forward to seeing them again, as well as welcoming many new ones.”
The new shop opens on Monday, August 19, and the team of dedicated volunteers have been busy sorting stock, displaying merchandise and getting ready to welcome people.
Anyone wishing to donate items for the shop to sell can call 01900 268045 after September 1 to arrange a free collection.
The charity said every penny raised through sales at the Workington shop stays in West Cumbria and helps it continue to provide palliative and end of life care to people living in the local community.
