Shouts for help on a Lake District mountain led to a call out for rescue teams.
Keswick Mountain Rescue were called out by Cumbria Police on August 31, at 2.16pm around the ridge line near Lords Rake.
A walker on Scafell Pike summit plateau had heard people around 1.5km away near Lords Rake shouting for help.
With no other information to go off – rescue teams were called out to investigate further.
Despite several conversations with other walkers on the ascent and then checking out Lords Rake, West Wall Traverse and Deep Ghyll up to Scafell summit, nothing of concern was found.
The team described the incident as a false alarm with good intent.
The incident lasted four hours and 42 minutes and involved 15 team members.
