A new exhibition at Kendal Museum will feature a father-and-daughter duo from Cumbria.
The exhibition, by Ciara Heaton and David Huston, will open in the museum’s People’s Gallery from September 26 until November 2.
With a 30-year education background, David has been involved in developing creative teaching and learning opportunities in school and wider community contexts.
His work has encompassed collaborating with organisations such as the Stroke Association, dementia research, teenage cancer patients, individuals with life-limiting illnesses, and freedom from torture.
Currently working from Market Place Studios in Kendal, Ciara is a multi-disciplinary artist and painter.
Her work is inspired by human experience and sensory aspects of journeys, which she expresses through painting or narrative. The exhibition will feature a collection of expressive abstract pieces curated over the past few years by both artists. Each piece is intertwined with a sense of place and emotional resonances.
Ciara also offers tutoring sessions across communities, young people’s services, and arts health organisations.
Entry to the People’s Gallery is free and open to public Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
The gallery is down a flight of stairs and people are urged to get in touch with the museum if they require alternative access.
