A man has completed a mammoth trek in honour of his sister.
Calvin Adams, who grew up in Workington, trekked across the Gondogorro La pass, in the shadow of K2, to raise funds for Hospice at Home West Cumbria after his sister Melanie received a terminal cancer diagnosis.
Melanie died before Calvin set off on his trek, which saw him cover 120km over two weeks.
Calvin said: “I wanted to do it as a thank you for the support Hospice at Home West Cumbria provided for Melanie during her illness.
“It has been an honour to raise some funds for Hospice at Home West Cumbria. The care and advice given to Mel and our entire family allowed Mel the dignity she deserved during her final struggles and allowed us all to be together at the end.”
Calvin has now raised over £2,300 through the challenge, with the support of Melanie’s daughter Fiona Musgrave, who has been fundraising in her salon Truth Hair and Beauty in Workington.
