Investigations into a Cumbrian teacher arrested in connection with a child sex offence remain ongoing.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested by police on suspicion of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
He was subsequently bailed while enquiries continue, Cumbria police said.
A school spokesman said: “Safeguarding is of paramount importance in all that we do, and following this allegation we acted promptly, working with the police to aid their enquiries, while following their advice at every point.
“We also have strong policies in place to support students and their families, and are confident that we have followed them fully, and continue to do so.”
