Hundreds of runners, including a number who ran the first event 10 years ago, marked the anniversary of one of Cumbria’s most popular parkruns.
Run director Ron Eadington, who has managed the run for almost the entire decade, paid tribute to the team of volunteers who keep runners safe on routes around the National Trust Fell Foot Park on Windermere.
“We’re lucky to have a super core team of volunteers who help things run so smoothly,” Ron said.
Runners were able to use the summer route for one final time while next week the course will revert to the paths used during winter.
Isaac and Oli Andrews were awarded this year’s event directors shield in recognition for their commitment to volunteering.
A collection for Windermere & District foodbank resulted in donations amounting to over a week’s worth of food.
