Whitehaven have added another former Workington Town player to their squad for 2025.
Winger Henry Hadfield is a player with experience in both codes who made six appearances for Workington following his mid-season signing. He scored his only try on debut in a tight victory over Rochdale Hornets.
A native of Penrith he has also played for the town’s rugby union side as well as playing at Fylde and Darlington Mowden Park in the 15-a-side code while he also had a spell amongst the junior set up at Salford Red Devils.
Head coach Anthony Murray said of Hadfield: “I’m really pleased Henry has decided to keep developing his game with us at Whitehaven.
“Henry has been playing rugby union and has now decided to fully concentrate on playing league.
“He will add plenty of size and strength to our outside backs and put his hand up to do the hard yards out of yardage.
“His carries will be in the double figures and I’m sure he will top the metres most weeks. He is a genuine hard-working player and I’m sure he will continue to progress in his league career.”
