A disused Lake District hotel is set to become a 17-bed aparthotel following a £1million refurbishment.
Grey Walls Hotel on Elleray Road in Windermere has been bought by Cradel Haus, led by husband-and-wife team Del and Craig Parsons.
The couple plan to restore it to its former glory, transforming the space into a combination of two and one-bedroom apartments, plus studio-style accommodation.
Work is expected to start immediate on the £1 million project and it is hoped Grey Walls will be open for bookings by late 2025.
The apartments will all be equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and technology including smart televisions, fibre Wi-Fi, smart heating controls, EV charging and LED lighting.
The couple said they aimed to offer guests a luxury, yet private experience, with soft furnishings from British manufacturers, underfloor heating throughout and Italian tiles in the bathroom.
There will be a self-check-in system in place and all apartments will also include private, off-road parking and a communal veranda/terrace to the rear of the property.

Craig said: “With Grey Walls, we’re excited to breathe new life into a space that holds so much history and potential.
“Our passion for creating luxurious, unforgettable experiences in the Lake District is at the heart of Cradel Haus.
“Restoring Grey Walls is an opportunity to celebrate this beautiful region while providing guests with a unique place to relax, unwind, and make lasting memories.”
Grey Walls will join Cradel Haus’s existing portfolio of five-star properties, which also includes Fair Rigg, a collection of four holiday apartments.
