Whitehaven have signed centre Chris Taylor for the third time, welcoming back a hugely popular player for the club.

Having initially signed ahead of the 2014 campaign Taylor played 182 times for Haven across two spells and in that time scored 50 tries and landed one drop goal to bring up a total of 201 points.

The experienced centre was with Haven for a short spell first time before a move to Halifax ahead of the 2015 season.

He  returned mid-way through that campaign and remained with the club until the end of the 2023 campaign.

Taylor made the move to Workington to link up with Anthony Murray last season but has returned to The Ortus Rec ahead of the 2025 League 1 campaign.

Head coach Anthony Murray said: “Chris will be a great signing for us, especially having a long connection with the club after playing 10 seasons. I have always been an admirer of Chris and even more so now having worked with him at Town last year.

“Chris will bring a wealth of experience but also his professional attitude and work ethics will help our young squad and I’m sure he will have a great season.”
