Workington Reds continued their seasonal build-up with a good 2-1 win on Saturday at Heaton Stannington.
Host manager Dean Nicholson was actually signed as a player by Darren Edmondson during his first spell in charge of the Reds.
In recent times Nicholson has led ambitious Heaton Stannington to two promotions and they are preparing for their first season in the NPL Eastern Division.
Workington had taken the lead with a fine opening goal on 14 minutes.
The move was developed by Keelan Keelan and a lovely pass found the trialist forward who finished with a great strike.
The new man had also played in the first half at Cleator Moor Celtic on Tuesday and is likely to be back this Tuesday when Reds visit Whitehaven.
The home side equalised on 27 minutes through Leighton Hopper and it stayed that way until the 88th minute when Josh Galloway won it for the Reds.
