A dispersal order was issued for Whitehaven town centre last night after issues with anti-social behaviour.
Copeland Police said there were ongoing issues with youths acting in an anti-social manner in the town centre.
The town held its Christmas lights switch-on event yesterday.
it added: “Numerous youths have already been issued banning orders and parents receiving phone calls to come and collect their children.”
Police urged parents to check in with your children and make sure they know of their whereabouts and what they are up to.
It added: “This irresponsible behaviour takes officers away from dealing with other calls for service.”
Officers were on foot patrol and CCTV was being monitored overnight.
