A power cut affected 601 properties in Workington into the early hours.
Electricity North West said it was caused by an unexpected incident at around 11.20pm yesterday, Friday November 22.
Some properties in the town experienced a short outage at the same time.
Engineers restored power by around 1.10am today, Saturday November 23.
