Why not start your Christmas celebrations off with a festive steam train ride at the North of England’s highest narrow-gauge railway?

Travelling from Alston in Cumbria to Lintley in Northumberland through the scenic South Tyne Valley in the beautiful North Pennine hills, you’ll be visited by Santa and his elves bringing a present for all children aged 0-16.

Tickets also include a hot drink and festive nibble to take on the train with you and if you’d like something more substantial, the Crossing Café at Alston will be serving a festive menu too.

Adults and children aged three and over £22, under-threes free!

Santa trains run:

  • December 7
  • December 8
  • December 14
  • December 15

Departures are at 10.30am, noon, 2pm and 3.30pm.

The railway is found just to the north of Alston town centre, centrally located on transport routes from Carlisle and Penrith.

The on-site car park is free.

It’s a great way to get yourself on track for Christmas so don’t miss out, tickets for this festive fun, organised by our brilliant volunteer elves, sell out quickly, so book yours today!
