More than 800 apprentices and graduates will be recruited by BAE Systems Submarines in 2025.
UK-wide, the company plans to enrol a further 2,400 new apprentices, undergraduates and graduates in 2025.
That will mean it having a record number of 6,500 in training, making up approximately 15 per cent of its UK workforce.
The Submarines site in Barrow is advertising for 610 apprentices, 79 undergraduates and 112 graduates.
An anticipated £230 million investment in education and skills next year will take the total amount spent by BAE Systems on upskilling people across the UK since 2020 to beyond £1 billion.
The funding has grown year-on-year since the COVID-19 pandemic and is spent on UK apprentices, graduates and experienced employees, as well as education outreach.
