Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, have been gifted a van by a civil engineering firm.
The Carlisle-based hospice, which supports families across Cumbria, has been given the van, which has a three-year contract, by AE Yates.
Vicki Lesley, a fundraiser at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, said: “We are deeply grateful to A E Yates Ltd for this incredible gift.
“It enables us to get out into the community to visit schools, workplaces and groups to raise awareness of the care we provide.
“It will also help us provide support to our wonderful hospice supporters who raise much needed funds to keep the hospice doors open, as well as support with our other outreach services.”
It has saved the hospice the cost of leasing or buying a vehicle, which means more of resources and funds can be allocated directly to patient care and support for local families during their time of need.
AE Yates committed to the initial three-year term for the van, with an expressed interest in establishing a long-term partnership with the hospice.
Sven Till, AE Yates managing director, added: “We are extremely proud to support Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw. The fantastic work they do in supporting families throughout Cumbria is a much-needed service and we are privileged to be able to play a small part by providing the van.”
