A tip-off called into the police about a group of people in a car in a Lake District town led to an arrest.
Police were called on Thursday with a report that the people were suspected to be smoking cannabis while parked in Windermere.
Officers responded and stopped the car, which was being driven on Windermere Road.
The driver, a 52-year-old woman from Manchester, failed a drugs wipe and was arrested. She was released under investigation to allow time for blood test results.
The driver may also face further action due to defective tyres and travelling with one of her passengers in the boot.
