
Silloth’s Golf Hotel has been sold to a Midlands hotelier as its owners put Maryport’s Golden Lion on market for £775,000.
The 23-room hotel was run by the Cueto family, who are retiring, and has been sold for an undisclosed sum to Thurai Sivalingam.
The Cueto family have also put the 16-bedroom Golden Lion Hotel in Maryport up for sale for £775,000.
The Golf Hotel has a 75-cover restaurant, bar, lounge and a function room with capacity for 110 people.
There are also several retail spaces, including a laundrette, which currently generates a letting income. The business had an annual net turnover to year end March 2024 of £575,907.
Thurai said: “I’m delighted to have bought the Golf Hotel and look forward to continuing to run the existing mix of business, and our long-term plans are to undertake a programme of refurbishment to further enhance the already impressive trading accommodation.”
