Over two million people have played a video game inspired by the Windscale disaster since it launched.
Atomfall, created by Rebellion, officially launched to the public on March 27, and was quickly met with glowing reviews calling it ‘captivating’, ‘compelling’ and ‘one of the most enjoyable games of the year.’
Rebellion said it recorded over 1.5 million players in its first launch week alone – making it their most successful video game launch in its 32-year history.
Since then, the game has amassed over two million players, and the developers have also shared a handful of interesting stats based on what players have chosen to do while playing the game.

The most popular food in the game is a tin of meat, with over 14.1 million tins eaten by players, followed by 8.4 million loaves of bread and 7.6 million pastys.
Washing down the digital food players also ordered over 250,000 pints of beer and drank over 500,000 cups of tea.
Players have also carried out 5,900,000 kills with a cricket bat and have died over 420,000 times to swarms.
A total of 59.1 per cent of people chose to help the wounded scientist – who players first meet when starting the game.
But 21.6 per cent chose to threaten the scientist and 19.3 per cent of players chose to kill him.
Players have also found over 3,600,000 comics and over 12,700,000 caches.

Alongside the game’s success, Rebellion have also patched a few issues with the game, including an audio bug, where the audio would cut when players would enter a bunker.
The developers said they are continuing to work on future game updates and yesterday released an accessibility trailer detailing the ways in which the game has been made more accessible for players.
