
Workington AFC said it had been made aware of racist abuse being shouted at the pitch during its match with Leek Town.
A statement from the club said: “Let us be absolutely clear: there is no place for racism in football, at our club, or in our community.
“We are taking this matter with the utmost seriousness and are committed to identifying those responsible.
“We have received two names in connection with the incident and strongly encourage these individuals to come forward and speak with the club directly within the next 48 hours.
“We will be working closely as a club to ensure appropriate action is taken.
“Workington AFC stands firmly against all forms of discrimination.
“We remain dedicated to ensuring our club is a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone.”
