A man has been jailed for six years and four months for 19 child sex crimes in north Cumbria committed over a decade ago.
Jacob Corrie, 31, pleaded guilty to nine counts of sexual activity with a child, eight counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and two counts of sexual communication with a child.
The offences took place in the Carlisle area in 2013 and 2014 against two victims under 16.
Detective Constable Rebecca Lynch, of Cumberland CID, said “Corrie initially denied the offences in interview, before pleading guilty and was aware of his victims ages when he committed the offences.
“We hope that this sentencing sends a clear message to survivors of sexual abuse.
“As a force we are committed to thoroughly and compassionately investigating all reports of rape and serious sexual offences, no matter how much time has passed.
“We continue to urge anyone who has been victim of a sexual offence to contact police so that our officers can investigate.
“You will be supported throughout our investigation which is tailored to an individual’s circumstances.”
