A festival celebrating health, well-being and community spirit will be held in Workington next month.

Reach Out will take place in Vulcan Park on Friday May 30 from 11am to 4pm.

It will bring together services and activities that help people look after themselves and their families.

Organised by Workington Town Council said there would be something for all ages and the festival aimed to inspire healthier lifestyles and create connections across the community.

People can enjoy yoga, mindfulness and meditation sessions, and a soundbath experience.

Families can take part in a health and well-being session aimed at children and their adults, designed to support young people’s mental well-being.

There will also be stress and anxiety support sessions, healthy eating advice, and the opportunity to explore emotional wellness.

Free NHS health checks will be available throughout the day. A variety of sports activities and interactive workshops will round out the day’s offerings.

Local charities, support groups, and healthcare providers will also be on hand to offer advice and information about the vital services they provide in the area.

Councillor Ellie Wood, chair of Workington Town Council’s culture and community committee, said: “Our Reach Out event has gone from strength to strength each year and 2025 will showcase over 40 different organisations, charities and services that Workington has to offer.

“The aim of this event is to highlight and showcase the support and guidance that is available to the community to help them in their daily lives. We hope that everyone who attends takes away at least one tip or technique to help with their own health and well-being.”
