‘He had a metal baseball bat’: Man seriously injured in West Cumbrian fight

A man has been seriously injured after a fight in West Cumbria.

The incident happened on Loop Road South in Whitehaven on Thursday April 10 between 7am and 8.15am.

Police said it was reported that two men were fighting and one of the men had a metal baseball bat.

One of the men was described as 6ft, of a large muscular build and was driving a Nissan Duke in grey. The other man was described as around 6ft 1in, with several tattoos, and had headphones.

A man in his 30s sustained serious injuries.

A 40-year-old man from Egremont was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and harassment.

He has been released under investigation.

Police are appealing for anyone with footage or who may have seen the incident to get in touch.
