In pictures: Uppies and Downies Good Friday 2025

The first game of the Uppies and Downies was held in Workington on Good Friday.

We were there to capture all the action of the traditional no-rules mass football game and we brought you all the action as it happened.

Uppies were victorious after a hard-fought match – with Shane Roe hailing it for the side at Workington Hall.

Here’s how it unfolded.

Downies will have it all to play for in the next matches on Easter Tuesday and next Saturday.
