Uppies completed a whitewash in the 2025 Uppies & Downies series.

The third game tonight, Saturday, April 26, was over in less than two hours – as the ball got to the hall by 8.20pm.

It was hailed by Dan Park.

Uppies already won the Good Friday and Easter Tuesday games, thanks to Shane Roe and Stefan Scott.

The Downies will have to get the specially made leather ball to the harbour to be declared the winners, while the Uppies have to get to the gates of Workington Hall.

The no rules mass football game dates back hundreds of years.

If you’ve never seen it before – here’s videographer Miles Edwards’ film from Tuesday’s game – which was one of the most intense in a while.

Here’s a brief history of the game and here is our Hailers Hall of Fame – every hailer we could find dating back to the 1800s

Here’s how it unfolded….
