Emergency services were called after a car left the M6 and came to stop on land alongside the motorway.
Cumbria police said the incident was reported at around 5.15pm yesterday, Tuesday, May 13.
It happened near Junction 43.
There was only one vehicle involved.
The driver of the car, a man, was treated by ambulance staff. Air ambulance staff also attended.
He was reported to have no life-threatening or life-changing injuries at this time.
Police thanked people who came to the driver’s aid following the incidemt.
