
A major search is underway for a man who was sailing on a dinghy off Scotland’s Solway Coast.
Emergency services, including the Coastguard and Police Scotland are involved in the search for the 72-year-old sailor, who had been in the Fleet of Bay area on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called at around 7pm yesterday, Tuesday May 13, after the man was overdue at Wigtown Bay.
Coastguard rescue teams from Ballantrae, Isle of Whithorn, Kirkcudbright, Portling, Stranraer, and Portpatrick, a Coastguard helicopter and RNLI crews from Kirkcudbright and Port William all took part in the search.
The search resumed this morning.
