Teens arrested after Carlisle assault caught on camera

Two teen boys have been arrested in connection with an incident in Carlisle last week.

A man was assaulted at Hammond’s Pond on Friday, May 16, at 7.10pm.

Carlisle police said: “We are aware of video shared on May 18 on social media regarding the incident.

“It is alleged that the man was taking photos of people in the area. Officers have reviewed CCTV of the area and this has not occurred.

“In the video a man is assaulted, he was checked over by the North West Ambulance Service with minor injuries.

“A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

“They have been released on police bail.”
