Carlisle’s new B&M is set to open, creating 40 new jobs.
The discount chain has taken on the former Wilko store in the city centre and work has been underway to revamp the premises.
It is set to open at 8am next Friday, May 30.
The 21,283sq ft store will be officially opened by representatives of Carlisle Food Bank.
The charity was nominated by staff to take centre stage and to receive a donation.
B&M said: “Carlisle Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done.
We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
