Two men from the North East have been arrested in connection with burglaries in Cumbria.
Cumbria Police’s Rural Crime team said they arrested the men in Hartlepool and Darlington in connection with a number of burglaries in the Ponsonby and Bootle areas.
One man was further arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated assault on an officer.
The team said a number of suspected stolen power tools were seized during searches, and enquiries were continuing to identify the owners.
Both men were interviewed by Cumberland CID and have been bailed with conditions preventing them from travelling to Cumbria.
The team added: “We will continue to travel around the country to arrest those individuals who prey on our rural communities. You travel to steal – we’ll travel to deal.”
