Work has officially started on a new 90-home development in Carlisle.
Sandsfield Way is being developed by Genesis Homes at the junction of Orton Road and Sandsfield Lane.
It will include 17 properties designated as affordable housing.
As part of the planning permission being granted, Genesis Homes committed to contribute £520,000 towards local education and improving public spaces.
A new footpath, connecting Sandsfield Way to Priorwood Close, will be created. The housebuilder has also contributed funds to upgrade the existing facilities on the nearby Yewdale Road and Richmond Green, as well as introducing artificial sports pitches across the area.
It is hoped the first homes will be launched in August.
