The idyllic setting of Hawkshead’s parish church, which dates from the 12th century, will be the venue for 11 concerts and recitals this summer.
The popular Music for a Summer Evening programme has been running for almost 60 years and provides a series of musical concerts for residents and summer visitors to the area.
It will take place every Tuesday during June and July at 7.30pm.
Steve Hoyle, organiser member, said: “We are thrilled to announce an exciting line-up of musical performances. This series offers something for everyone, featuring a wide range of genres and talented artists.
“Our schedule features performances ranging from Chamber Music and opera to a light-hearted organ extravaganza. The line-up includes returning favourites and several new performers.”
Entry to the concerts is free but there will be a voluntary collection in aid of the church, local and national charities.
Free car parking for the concerts courtesy of Lake District National Park Authority will also be available on the main village car park from 5pm.
There will be two additional concerts on August 5 at 2pm and 7.30pm by Lake District Summer Music, which will be ticketed.
