Monday night saw a return for the first time this season to Cleamire, not far from Westward and Bolton Low Houses.
It was an horrendous night with heavy rain and wind, probably one of the worst nights so far this season.
The senior hounds got things underway with 14 hounds. Huntsman’s Rebel was the odds on favourite with the championship leader deciding not to run after her win at the weekend at the Bitch Produce Trails.
Visibility was down to zero and the hounds were able to be picked out climbing towards Sandale and leading the way were kennel mates Foxparke Sidekick and Foxparke Beep Beep for Team Foxparke, ahead of Black Edition for Lisa and Holly Whitefield and Foxparke Fairlady in fourth and the favourite Huntsman’s Rebel in fifth, as they came back on to the long finish you could just about make out three dogs together one with a slight lead.
As they got closer it was Huntsman’s Rebel for Denise and Jenny Bland and Graeme Little who crossed the line to take her fifth win of the season.
Not too far behind was Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier’s and Brook Butler’s Foxparke Side Kick and Foxparke Beep Beep who has a good record round the course but hasn’t been seen running for a while.
Next to slip were the pups with 22 hounds. Maggie and Let It Be were joint favourites after their impressive wins at the weekend at Gamelsby.
The hounds weren’t hard to make out as they climbed out towards Sandale but it was clear that a group of five had broken clear.

As they came on to the finish it was a good race but it was Let It Be who took the win for Ruth Graham and Charlie Dixon.
Lee, Haley, George and Joey Wall, Sandra Mordue and Ted Storrow’s Denton Phantom finished in second place with Maggie in third for Les and Graham Reid.
For the pups it was a fairly slow time for the race with the weather conditions not helping as they continued to deteriorate.
The open maidens were next to slip with 30 hounds. Again, visibility was zero and the hounds were unable to be made out as they went throughout the trail, as they showed on the finish and came closer it was Christopher Henderson’s Light Up who showed in front and crossed the line to take the win.
He was followed closely by Huntsman’s Quirk for Denise and Jenny Bland. The Foxparke team bagged another ticket with Foxparke Elliott’s Lad in third place who seems to be coming back to form followed by a small gap to Flecky Jack for Donna, Shaun, Becky and Luke Hetherington.
The last race of the night was the open restricted race with a slip of 14 hounds. By this time the night was closing in with the poor weather conditions.

Dream Catcher and Malfunction were joint favourites and as they showed it was Huntsman’s Sparkle for Tracy, Derrick and Carolyn Hill who was in front.
Huntsman’s Sparkle crossed in first place with the fastest time of the night knocking three minutes off the puppy time.
In second place was Dream Catcher for Joy, Brian and Cathy Lister. George McGimpsey and Gillian Telford’s Millie’s Lad finished in third place.
Trailing resumes today, Wednesday June 11, with a return to Potters Park, near Ennerdale with a four card meeting with the first trail slipping at 6.15pm.
