A Lake District runner has completed a 268-mile challenge, known as Britain’s most brutal race.
Anna Troup, of Grasmere, was the first to complete the Montane Summer Spine, across the Pennine Way from Edale to Kirk Yetholm, with a time of 84:56:37.
She topped the women’s and the overall podium.
Anna is a two-time Summer Spine champion and women’s course record holder.

Now in its fifth year, over 700 runners took part in the endurance races from across the world.

Since her last Spine win in 2022, Anna, 55, has quietly fought a stubborn, slow-burning injury that would sideline her for nearly three years.
