Artists across north Cumbria are getting ready to turn a town centre into a gallery.

Meanders 2025 will see 29 shop windows in Cockermouth display work from 33 artists from July 3 to July 21.

The community art trail is affiliated with the Cockermouth Live! festival of music, fun and performance, from July 3 to July 6.

Meanders event is organised by artists Art People, who include Helen Clues, Alison Marrs, Sarah Ames, Natalie Burns and Maggi Toner-Edgar.

There is a range of art on display including painting, printing, embroidery, mosaic, textile art, and jewellery making.

A map is available from several retailers in the town, including Percy House Gallery and Recreate & Make, plus the EVAN Gallery in Penrith and The Fountain Gallery in Wigton.

Art People said: ” We have aligned our dates to become affiliated with Cockermouth Live! Meanders runs for over two weeks but launches with the festival this year and we have more artists than in any previous year.

“This event goes from strength to strength, helped along by the retailers. We are bringing the art gallery onto the street, helping bring art to a wider audience.”
