Two people are due to appear in court following shoplifting incidents in Penrith.
Police were called about thefts at two retail premises in the town on Tuesday, July1.
A man and a woman were detained at the scene by Eden Neighbourhood Policing officers shortly after police received the report.
Heather Rae, 46, of Durranhill Road, Carlisle and Martin Bainbridge, 42, of Margaret Creighton Gardens, Carlisle have been charged with theft.
Both are due to appear before Carlisle Magistrates Court on August 4.
