A Cumbrian hotel has been sold to a national hospitality group.
The Netherwood Hotel in Grange-over-Sands has been acquired by the Interesting Hotels Group for an undisclosed price.
The former Victorian manor house, which overlooks Morecambe Bay, includes 34 rooms, conference and spa facilities.
Colliers sold the hotel on behalf of North England Estates Limited after a decade of ownership and investment in the property, which sits in almost seven acres of land.
This latest purchase brings Interesting Hotels Group’s portfolio of hospitality businesses to 11.
It bought the Riverside Hotel in Kendal through Colliers in 2023.
Ulrike Le Roux, managing director of Interesting Hotels, said: “We are delighted to continue adding to our portfolio, and we recognise the strength of the Lake District market by adding Netherwood Hotel to our group. We look forward to welcoming the hotel’s team to the business and identifying opportunities to develop together.”
Julian Troup, Head of Colliers Hotels Agency team handled the sale. He said: “The sale of the Netherwood Hotel follows our confidential multi-million-pound sale of the 70-bedroom Ambleside Salutation Hotel & Spa last month.
“It is one of the most beautiful parts of the country, hugely popular with tourists and ‘staycationers’ alike. This transaction adds to our high volume of sales that have been concluded already this year and demonstrates the continuing confidence in the UK market from a group and individual buyers.”
