
Candidates have been revealed for Barrow Town Council’s by-election next month.
There are two vacancies in the Risedale ward and one vacancy in the Barrow Island ward.
Reform UK has announced that Sienna Churcher, 19, a student at Barrow Sixth Form and business owner Colin Rudd, 59, will stand in the Risedale ward, while Nathan Holmes, 29, a steelworker at BAE Systems, will be its candidate for Barrow Island.
The Conservative Party said it was also fielding three candidates.

In the Risedale ward, Anne Bispham and Sonjie Marshall will be standing and John McDonnell will be standing in Barrow Island.

The Labour Party’s candidates for Risedale are sitting councillor Therese Assouad and Karl Scrogham, son of Barrow and Furness MP Michelle Scrogham.
Its Barrow Island candidate is David Schofield.
The Liberal Democrats is fielding one candidate for the Risedale ward – Ethan Weir-Preston.
Elections will be held on Thursday, August 7.
