Kendal United Football Club’s chairman has retired after 25 years.
Tim Pryor is stepping down from the role and has been appointed as honorary life president, joining Ian Postlethwaite in the prestigious role.
Tim had been instrumental in its transformation into a thriving community club, it said.
It added: “Under his leadership, Kendal United has evolved from a club on the brink of collapse into a 3-Star England Football Accredited Club, boasting modern facilities at Castle Drive.
“The club’s £370,000 clubhouse, opened in 2009, stands as a testament to Tim’s vision and commitment to providing excellent facilities for the local community.
“During his tenure as chairman, the club achieved Football Association Accredited status and expanded to run junior girls’ and boys’ teams alongside two open-aged men’s teams.”
The new chairman is Stuart Holden.
He said: “Tim’s dedication to Kendal United over the past 30 years has been nothing short of extraordinary.
“His leadership has been the driving force behind our transformation into a Charter Standard Community Football Club, and his passion for developing young talent through football has touched countless lives in our community.”
Stuart has served 18 years in various roles, including manager, committee member and most recently vice chair.
Tom Urry, James Pattison, and Jim Bone will continue as vice chairs and Stefan Grabek as secretary.
