A memorial cricket match in Cockermouth raised over £500 for the town’s mountain rescue team.
The cricket club was celebrating the life of club stalwart Ken White who died last year after a career which covered six decades of service to the Sandair club.
A sizeable crowd watched the Captain’s XI (Matty Sempill) take on the Chairman’s X1 (Ken’s son Gareth White).
Gareth said: “It was a great day, blessed by the weather and dad would have loved it.
“There were loads in and we raised £500 for Cockermouth Mountain Rescue which was great.”
The format used for the game was five pairs batting for four overs each.

Bowlers had two overs with three members of the side allowed to bowl four.
The Captain’s team batted first and nded up with 97 as the main contributions came from the last pair of skipper Sempill and Josh Brown.
The Chairman’s X1 batted really well in reply with Steve Chambers and Andy Sealby rolling back the years.
There were some huge sixes from Gabe Drimmie and Mark Middleton.
The game was finished off with father and son, Gareth and Cameron White as the final pair seeing the Chairman’s side over the line.
