Penrith face a new challenge for the 2025/26 season as they have been moved to Regional 1 North East.
Some old rivals compete in there but there will also be some new clubs to visit in Heath and York.
The season opens in a week’s time, Saturday September 6, away to Cleckheaton with the first home game against Harrogate a week later.
There have been some notable departures from the club, led by Archie Rattray who has moved to Tynedale.
The 21-year-old back row forward is arguably the best player in the county and certainly nobody is knocking him for having ambition and going as far as he can.
Young Rattray goes with the club’s best wishes.
Luke Coulston played a few games for Penrith after Christmas after leaving Newcastle Falcons academy so no surprise really that he has joined Darlington Mowden Park.
In addition prop Andy Rogers has switched to county rivals Kendal.

Moving the other way is Greg Wrathall, a big useful back row forward.
Prop Jack Gaskell has joined from Aspatria, again he’s a more than useful player who can make the step up.
A number of youngsters have been showing a lot of promise pre-season, notably Olly Newton at scrum half, son of Paul, who played for Fylde and then home club Penrith.
George Graham continues as captain for the second season.
Team manager Mike Sanderson said: “We are expecting a tough season but pleased to have made the move to the North East League.
“It’s a fresh challenge and will freshen things up so we are all looking forward to it.”
