Barrow Island can still mathematically make the National Conference Division Two play-offs – but it’s a massive ask.
Tomorrow they travel to 100% leaders East Leeds and follow up with their game in hand next weekend at second-in-the table Dewsbury Celtic.
Even then they need rivals for the last play-off spot, Normanton Knights to lose at home tomorrow to Celtic.
As things stand the Islanders are 14 differential scoring points better off than the Knights, but two points behind in the table.
Hensingham have already qualified for the play-offs and complete their regular programme tomorrow at home to Drighlington.
The West Yorkshire side are in the League’s no-man’s land between the play-offs and the relegation zone. Basically just waiting for the season to end.
Kris Coward will want his side to get through tomorrow without injuries, but put up a performance ahead of the play-offs where they will travel to either Clock Face Miners or Pilkington Recs.
Ellenborough have been doomed to the drop for a few weeks now but have proved themselves capable of good performances at this late stage.
They put 50 points on Hull Dockers two weeks ago and last Saturday had a good draw at Barrow Island.
There’s a tough one awaiting them tomorrow in their final game as a Division Two club when they entertain Pilkington Recs.
As mentioned Pilkington could be Hensingham’s opponents in the play-off semi-final. But they won’t be if they win at Elbra.
In Division One there’s still a chance that Egremont could make the last play-off place.
They are a point behind Oldham St Anne’s with each having two games left to play.
Tomorrow Egremont host Ince Rose Bridge who would be likely opponents if the Gillfoot side finish sixth.
Oldham St Annes also have play-off qualifiers Shaw Cross Sharks as opponents tomorrow but away.
If it goes to the last week next Saturday Egremont might fancy their chances of squeezing into the shoot-out.
They travel to bottom side Oulton Raiders while Oldham St Anne’s are at home to leaders Wigan St Jude’s.
Kells enjoyed their biggest win of the season last Saturday, beating doomed Crosfields 64-7 and tomorrow play their final away game at Woolston Rovers, who are also going down.
They entertain Shaw Cross Sharks in their final game next Saturday.
