Flags put up around Whitehaven Harbour without permission will be taken down.
Union flags and St George flags have appeared around the harbour area.
The land is privately owned and managed by Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners and it said prior consent was needed before any flags, signs or similar items were put up.
It added: “We have notified Cumberland Council and the flags will be taken down in due course. Thanks for your understanding and for helping us keep the harbour safe and running smoothly.”
