Search continues for missing West Cumbrian woman

A search is continuing for a missing West Cumbrian woman, missing for 28 days.

Alexandra Harrod, 47, of Seaton, near Workington was reported missing on August 30.

Enquiries by police have found that she was in shops in Whitehaven during the morning of Tuesday September 2.

Maryport Rescue volunteers have been searching the River Derwent.

It said: “With river levels much lower tonight some of the team carried out another search of the River Derwent looking for Alexandra Harrod.

“Swiftwater rescue technicians and drone pilots searched the area from Camerton bridge to Workington Harbour.

“With no sign of Alexandra teams returned to station.”

CCTV footage has been released shows Alexandra in Costa Coffee on King Street, Whitehaven, at around 11.20am on September 2.

Alexandra, who also goes by the name Alex, has links to the following areas:

  • Devon
  • Durham
  • Dorset
  • Leeds
  • Wiltshire

Alexandra is described as white, with short dark hair.

She was last seen wearing dark-coloured tracksuit pants, a dark-coloured padded jacket and was carrying a dark-coloured rucksack.

Police said they were concerned for her welfare.

Anyone with information on Alexandra’s whereabouts or has seen her should contact police on 101.

Officers would also like to urge Alexandra to contact them if she sees this appeal.
