Flooding has been reported at several locations on the A595 from Ravenglass to Duddon Bridge.
Cumberland Council said its highways teams were on site and were working hard to clear standing water and make the route safe.
It has asked drivers to:
- Reduce speed and take extra care when travelling in the area.
- Never drive through flood water. Even shallow water can damage vehicle’s engines, create a serious hazard, and leave you stranded.
If you encounter flooding, fallen trees, or any other hazards on the road, please report them using our online service at www.bit.ly/ReportAProblemCumberland or call the Highways Hotline on 0300 373 3736.
